DO IT YOURSELF
If your vehicle needs a tire rotation and you’re wondering how the process works, follow these 9 simple steps to ensure a safe and effective rotation:
-
Park in a safe, level location and turn on your hazard lights.
-
Gather the necessary tools for lifting and rotating your tires.
-
Engage your parking brake to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
-
Loosen the lug nuts slightly before lifting the vehicle.
-
Jack up the vehicle using the proper jack points listed in your owner’s manual.
-
Remove the wheels and rotate them according to the manufacturer’s recommended pattern (front-to-back or cross rotation).
-
Reinstall the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
-
Lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts to factory specifications.
-
Check tire pressure and ensure all wheels are secure—then you’re done!
Regular tire rotation improves tire life, ensures even wear, and keeps your vehicle handling safely.
